Professional Recognition as Senior Fellow of the HEA

The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is a non-profit UK organization that champions teaching excellence in Higher Education (HE). Elizabeth successfully applied for recognition as a Fellow (FHEA) in 2015 using her experience of supporting Open University students in their learning as the basis for her claim. During 2014-2015 she was invited to be part of a module team writing a new postgraduate module on Conflict and Development. This experience along with her work in mentoring peers within the Open University provided the evidence of supporting, collaborating and influencing colleagues in HE that is necessary in order to be recognized as a Senior Fellow of the HEA. The hard work of encapsulating her experiences and reflections on those experiences into a 7,000 word account was rewarded with the news that her bid for recogntion has been successful. She can now add those letters 'SFHEA' to her credentials!
